Yankees Look to Put Dent in Orioles AL East Lead Friday Night in Baltimore

After trailing the Toronto Blue Jays in the standings for most of the season, the Orioles have overcome their AL East foes and have built a three-game lead in the standings as we close in on the All-Star break. The Yankees have yet to catch the team sitting in the top spot in the East, no matter who it is, but continue to move closer to the top spot. We will back New York in game one tonight as Hiroki Kuroda continues to pitch well against Baltimore.

Yankees ask Kuroda to bring team closer to first

New York will hand the ball to Hiroki Kuroda on Friday night in the opener of a three-game series with the Orioles. Kuroda has had success against Baltimore this season in two starts. He has one win and one no-decision. Kuroda has been the only starter for the Yankees to hold the Orioles offense in check this season and he will look to do much of the same tonight.

Orioles hope offense finally solves Kuroda

Baltimore has put up some impressive offensive numbers against the Yankees this season, but Kuroda has been their achilles heal. They will get a third crack at the Yankee righty on Friday night in hopes of finally breaking through against him. Baltimore will send Miguel Gonzalez to the hill, who is quite possibly pitching for his spot in the rotation right now.

Our bets will be placed on Friday at SportsBetting.ag, where the Yankees are underdogs on the road even with Kuroda on the mound. We still think New York will win game one of this series, pulling to within three games of the top spot in the AL East. We are going to bet 15 percent of our bankroll on New York and the OVER 8.5 total runs scored at -115 tonight.
