Red Sox and Yankees Renew Rivalry Friday Night at Yankee Stadium
One of the most historic rivalries in baseball history will be renewed on Friday night when the Yankees host the Red Sox at Yankee Stadium for the first of three games. These two teams are headed in opposite directions, but not how many would have thought. Boston is struggling this year, while the Yankees are holding strong in the East. We like Boston on the road in the opener tonight.
Red Sox ask Workman to tame Yankee offense
Boston will hand the ball to Brandon Workman on Friday night in the hopes that he can keep the Yankee offense quiet in the first game of this series. Workman has not pitched in 11 days due to suspension, but when he takes the mound, he has been good for the Red Sox. Workman was ejected on May 30 for throwing near the head of Evan Longoria of Tampa Bay. Boston lost five of seven to the Yankees in the month of April, but have not faced each other since then.
Yankees in need of a win against the East
New York grabbed a win on Wednesday over Toronto, which snapped their four-game losing streak, and will look to continue moving in the right direction on Friday night at home when Boston comes to town. Vidal Nuno will take the mound for New York tonight, who has the worst home ERA in all of Major League Baseball. Nuno is 1-4 with an ERA of 5.88 overall. He has a 7.09 ERA at home and is 0-3 this year.
We will bet at BetOnline.ag on Friday night, where the Red Sox are underdogs in this contest. We will drop 15 percent of our bankroll on Boston and the OVER nine total runs scored at -105 as they take game one of this AL East series with the Yankees. The Red Sox need to go on a lengthy run, and it would be best to start that run against their division rivals.
