It seems as though no team from the NL East wants to take control of things and run away with the division. Atlanta, after being swept at home by Philadelphia, took the first two games of this four-game set with Washington. They then laid an egg on Saturday, dropping game three by a score of 3-0. The Nationals can salvage a split with Atlanta on Sunday afternoon as we place our bet on the Nats grabbing the victory.

The American League East leaders saw their struggles in the Bronx continue on Tuesday night when Masahiro Tanaka and the Yankees toppled the Blue Jays to pull within 3.5 games of first place. The Blue Jays are struggling right now, having lost seven of their last 10 games played. Toronto has also lost 14 straight games in the Bronx, but we like them to get back into the win column tonight.

National League action on Tuesday night features the Mets and the Cardinals from Busch Stadium in St. Louis. The Cardinals have won four straight games coming into tonight, including the series opener on Monday by a score of 6-2 over the Mets. The Cardinals are closing in on first place in the Central as Michael Wacha opposes Jon Niese tonight. We will back the Cardinals at home for a fifth straight win.

The Rockies have pulled to within 9.5 games of first place in the NL West with their first two wins in this series with the Giants, who hold that top spot. Colorado grabbed the game two win with a 2-run in-the-park home run in the ninth on Saturday night. The game one win saw the Rockies score five runs in the ninth to win 7-4. We like Colorado’s hot offense in this game for the sweep.

What will it take for the Heat to overcome their embarrassing game three loss at home? Well, for starters, they will need a much better defensive effort in game four on Thursday night against the Spurs. San Antonio led by 21 at halftime and never looked back en route to a 111-92 win to take a 2-1 series lead. We are going to put our money down on the Spurs.

With game three of the Stanley Cup Finals just hours away, fans are prepared for another exciting game between the Rangers and the Kings, this time at Madison Square Garden. The Kings own a 2-0 series lead, winning in overtime in game one and in double overtime in game two. It is quite possible that this game heads to overtime as well. No matter how long the game takes, we like the Kings at the end.

With game one of the Stanley Cup Finals looming large on Wednesday night, the Rangers and the Kings have taken the past couple of days to prepare for each other. The nerves will be present for the opening minutes, but should subside pretty quickly. With the Kings having won the Cup in 2012, we like them to grab the series opener tonight over the Rangers, who return to the Finals for the first time since 1994.
