Steeped in history, the MLB All-Star game will be played for the 85th time when the AL and NL squads meet at Target Field in Minneapolis on Tuesday night. In what has become one of the most popular professional All-Star games, this version used to be played twice per season. From 1959 to 1962 there were two games played per season before that format was abandoned. We will bet on the AL squad in this year’s contest.

After trailing the Toronto Blue Jays in the standings for most of the season, the Orioles have overcome their AL East foes and have built a three-game lead in the standings as we close in on the All-Star break. The Yankees have yet to catch the team sitting in the top spot in the East, no matter who it is, but continue to move closer to the top spot. We will back New York in game one tonight as Hiroki Kuroda continues to pitch well against Baltimore.

The Yankees have won two of the first three games, but Cleveland is poised to split the series with the Yankees tonight. David Phelps and T.J.
