Los Angeles has dropped four straight games coming into tonight’s contest with Boston, expanding their deficit in the AL West to four games behind Oakland. Boston won the opener of this series by a score of 4-2, but they are still preparing for the off-season as they sit 15 games out of first in the AL East. We will place our bet for the host Angels and Garrett Richards over Boston today as they snap their losing skid.

Seattle and Chicago will open a four-game series on Thursday night at Safeco Field as the Mariners inch closer to a Wild Card spot in the American League. They have won two straight games and are just one game out of the second spot. They would have to jump three teams to move into that spot though. We are going to back the Mariners at home tonight in the series opener as they take down the White Sox.

It is possible that 2014 is the year we see an all L.A. World Series. The Angels are just one game off the pace in the AL West while the Dodgers lead the NL West by two games. Both of these teams will fight for division titles this year due to varying factors. When these two teams meet for the first of just two games Monday night, we will back the visiting Angels with the victory.

Cincinnati has won the first two games of this four-game set with Miami to start the weekend and will send Homer Bailey to the mound for game three. Bailey has not been as effective this year as in year’s past, but he still heads this Reds rotation. Miami is hanging around in the NL East, just six games out of first place. We will take the Reds on the road as they win the first three games of this series.

The Mariners and the Indians are playoff hopefuls this season, with Seattle closest to a playoff spot. The Mariners are just three games out of a Wild Card spot in the American League despite sitting 11 games out of first in the AL West. Cleveland is 6.5 games out of first in the AL Central and five games out of first in the Wild Card. We are going to back veteran Chris Young and the Mariners on the road today.

Miami won the opener of this series on Monday, their fifth straight win. The Marlins are now just six games out of first in the NL East and the Nationals hold a half-game lead at the top of the division. We like Miami in this contest tonight.

Milwaukee holds a slim, 2.5-game lead in the NL Central while the Mets are eight games out of first in the NL East.
