When Pittsburgh and Houston collide on Monday Night Football at Heinz Field, it will feature a battle of two teams struggling to find their identity after six games of the season. Both teams are 3-3 to begin the year. Pittsburgh is a weird 3-3, alternating wins and losses each week of the season. Houston will give Pittsburgh a run for their money, but we still like the Steelers at home in this contest.

Vancouver enters tonight’s NHL contest without a loss and they will visit Edmonton, a team that has yet to win a game in the new 2014-2015 season. Despite their winless record, the Oilers do have a lone point on the season from a shootout loss. The Canucks have four points in the only two games they have played. We are going to back the Canucks on the road Friday night as they win their third straight game.

After literally throwing the game away on Tuesday afternoon, the Cardinals find themselves down 2-1 in the NLCS to the Giants. St. Louis will send Shelby Miller to the mound for just his second career playoff start while San Francisco counters with veteran Ryan Vogelsong. The Giants have won all of Vogelsong’s playoff starts, but today could be different as we back the Cardinals on the road as they even this series at two games apiece.

With an ugly forecast on tap for game three of the ALCS, we have decided to take a look at the NHL schedule on Monday. We have found the Bruins and the Avalanche from the TD Garden at 1:00 PM ET. This should be a fun game for hockey fans to watch early in the day as Colorado looks for its first win and Boston looks to even its record. We are going to put our money on the Avalanche as they grab a road win today.

There is just one game on the NHL schedule for Friday night as the Islanders visit the Hurricanes in a battle of two teams looking to forget last season. Both clubs struggled last season, posting less than 40 wins, but both have renewed hope for the 2014-2015 season. Neither team has played a game yet this year, so tonight should be interesting. We will back the visiting Islanders on Friday night as they win their season opener.

After winning their second Stanley Cup title in three years, the Kings will begin their title defense on Wednesday night when the Sharks come calling. The Sharks will be out for revenge after building a 3-0 lead in their playoff series with the Kings, only to lose the next four games and the series. Both of these teams should be playoff bound again this year, but we like Los Angeles to win the season opener tonight.

The NLDS between the Giants and the Nationals will shift to San Francisco today with the Giants leading 2-0 over the team with the best record in the National League. Washington has its back against the wall and will need an improbable effort to survive as they have to face Madison Bumgarner tonight. We will back the host Giants as they move on to the NLCS while sending Washington back home empty-handed.

Week five of the NFL season is upon us as the Titans host the Browns on Sunday afternoon for an AFC contest. Both of these teams are off to rough starts as the Titans are 1-3 and the Browns are 1-2. Tennessee is in danger of losing four straight games for the first time in four seasons while Cleveland could be moving closer to the Johnny Manziel era. We will back the Titans at home on Sunday.

Major League Baseball has been happy so far with the Wild Card game since its inception in 2012. The Pirates and the Giants will meet for the third such contest in the National League, with the Pirates looking to win a second straight year. Madison Bumgarner and Edinson Volquez will face-off on the mound for the right to play the Nationals in the NLDS. We like San Francisco on the road tonight as they move closer to another pennant.
