Philadelphia made a mockery of the NL East as they won the division by 13 games over the Atlanta Braves. An eight game losing streak, after they had clinched a playoff spot, kept it from being an even wider margin.

The Phillies closed the season with four straight wins, including a sweep of the Braves, to get back to their winning ways.

St. Louis went on a torrid 16-5 run to finish the season and bump the Braves out of the Wild Card spot. That run included a 4-3 Loshe vs Halladay victory back on September 19, in Philadelphia.

You can’t read too much into that win as the Phillies weren’t playing for much back then.
