Senators vs. Rangers National Hockey League Preview
New York (7-3-3) has won four straight games as they head out on the road for the second time this season. The Rangers opened the 2011-12 season with a brutal seven game road swing that took them to Europe for two games and then to the West coast once they returned.
Once they finally got back on home ice at Madison Square Garden, the Rangers went 4-1-1 including a 3-0 shutout of the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday night.
Ottawa (7-7-1) who started the season with a 1-4 record, have reached the .500 mark with wins in six of their last nine contests. That’s the good news. The bad news is they have dropped three straight games, and they are still a really horrible hockey club.
During their six game winning streak, two contests were decided in a shootout. The Senators also beat up on the likes of Columbus, Winnipeg, and Carolina, who have a combined 12-25-7 record.
NHL Puck Betting Lines: Rangers @ Senators Free Pick
We love the fact that we are able to get a plus number, with the BetOnline Sportsbook NHL 3 Way betting line, for this Rangers vs. Senators Free Pick tonight. While we don’t see the Rangers having a Stanley Cup parade at seasons end, the Senators won’t even make the NHL playoff dance.
After goaltender Martin Biron shutout the Jets on Sunday, we expect that Henrik Lundqvist will be back between the pipes for the Rangers tonight. Lundgvist owns a stellar 6-0-0 record, with one shutout and a 1.32 GAA, in his last six starts on the frozen pond in Ottawa.
Ottawa will be without their Captain, Daniel Alfredsson, for a fifth straight game, as he suffered a concussion back on October 29, 2011. With Alfredsson out, the Senators have scored just nine goals in four games – after they netted 20 in their previous five contests.
