San Jose Sharks @ New York Islanders Game Day Preview

Tonight we feature on of the hottest team in National Hockey League, the Sharks, versus one of the coldest teams in the league, the Islanders. San Jose stumbled out of the gates, with a 1-3 record to open the season, but have won four straight contests. New York showed promise with a 3-1-1 start to the 2011-12 season but have slumped with four straight loses.

San Jose goaltender Antti Niemi has been hot in the nets for the Sharks as he has started  all four San Jose victories on this lengthy road swing. New York will replace goalie Evgeni Nabokov (lower-body injury) with human sieve Ric. DiPietro.

Nabokov played for ten seasons in San Jose before joining the Islanders this season. The Islanders are 5-15 in their last 20 games when DiPietro has been their starting goaltender.
