NFL Week 7 Preview: Pittsburgh Steelers
It was like old times as the Steelers (4-1) welcomed QB Ben Roethlisberger back after a four game suspension and then buried the Browns 28-10 during Week 6 NFL 2010 action.
Thanks to Pittsburgh having a bye week, Big Ben was able to get in two weeks of practice prior to his cupcake game return. He was very sharp, albeit against the Browns, as he completed 16 of 27 passes for 257 yards and three touchdowns.
The Steelers did look slightly suspect on pass defense as rookie Colt McCoy made his NFL debut and torched Pittsburgh for 281 yards and one touchdown. The silver lining was McCoy throwing two interceptions. On the second INT the Steelers scored three plays later to turn out the lights, as the party was over and the Brownies were done.

Miami had two weeks to sit stew over their 41-14 pounding by the Patriots in Week 5 and they came back strong with a 23-20 overtime road win against the Packers in Week 6.
We see the Dolphins as team without an identity and that makes them an enigma to us. This is a very bland team that can lull you to sleep at times. The addition of WR Brandon Marshall and the emergence of WR Devone Bess count as two bright stars in an otherwise clear Miami sky.
One thing is certain, quarterback Chad Henne needs to be a good game manager for the Fins to have a fighting chance against the vaunted Steelers defense. In the Dolphins’ three wins Henne has three TD passes and one INT. In their three losses he has tossed four TD passes to go along with four INT.

Miami is the only team in the league that has not lost on the road or won at home as they are 3-0 on the road and 0-2 at home. We’re not sure whether that’s a trend, or a streak or just a quirky fluke, but we think it’s a little bit of all three. The Steelers are 2-0 on the road with wins at Tennessee and Tampa.
An interesting trend that sides with the Steelers is that they are 23-9 ATS when they go on the road after a divisional win at home. Did you get that? They beat AFC North division doormat Cleveland last week in Pittsburgh.
Some pundits have the Steelers looking past the Dolphins as they start a brutal three game road trip. After their trip to South Beach, Pittsburgh visits the Saints and Bengals prior to heading home to face the Patriots.
We don’t buy them looking past Miami as we see the opposite being true. Pittsburgh will be extremely focused on winning this week as it will take some pressure off the rest of the road trip. A loss will have them gripping a bit tighter when they clash with the Super Bowl Champs in New Orleans in Week 8.
With BetUs.com offering a 10% to 60% cash back sign up bonus we suggest that you may want to take that free cash and wager on the Steelers as they stymie the Dolphins. Points won’t be plentiful in this matchup as the 23-17 final score covers the -3 point spread and keeps the game total barely UNDER 41 points.
