Canadiens vs Islanders NHL Eastern Conference Game Day Call
A little skeptic of the Oilers chances against the Blue Jackets, we’ll take a look at the Montréal Canadiens vs New York Islanders match-up tonight. We will still back Edmonton – though with a reduced investment.
Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, in Uniondale, NY, is the venue tonight. BetOnline wagering windows are wide open all the way up to game time as puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET on Tuesday, March 5, 2013.
Montréal Canadiens: Riding high in the Eastern Conference
As one of the more surprising teams in the NHL this season, Montréal is currently sitting at the top of the standings in the East. With 32 points, the Canadiens are just ahead of Boston who have 30 points and three games in hand. Tuning into some Habs action recently, their team speed caught our eye as one of their many attributes. Montréal registered a 4-3 win over the Bruins on Sunday and have won eight of their past eleven contests. This team is not just a feu de paille this season.
New York Islanders: Enigma on Long Island prowls with sluggish success
Having not posted a winning record since they went 40-30-12 during the 2006-07 season, the New York Islanders are starting to show some modest gain after five years of pain. Sporting a record of 9-11-2 the soon to be Brooklyn Boys are just three points out of a playoff spot. New York guns for their fifth two game winning streak of the season tonight. The problem here though, the other four streaks have been sandwiched by losing streaks of two (twice), three, and five games.
New York vs Montréal: BetOnline Wagering Odds & Sportsbook Review Game Day Call
Bookmakers at betonline.ag have posted the Canadiens as road favorites at 1.5 (+255) ATS and -115 on the money line. The Islanders get +1.5 (-305) on the puck line and +104 straight up while the Over/Under is 5.5 (O +121 U -33) total goals. The Islanders should be in good shape for their move to the Barclays Center for the 2015-16 NHL season. Les Habitants are the better squad tonight. We’ll back the Habs with the -115 money line in the BetOnline sportsbook!
