NHL Lockout? Pucking forget about it and bet on the NFL
Those mourning the lack of wagering action from the frozen ponds of the National Hockey League should just say “Puck You” to the NHL and head over to the National Football League online betting boards.
Even if there wasn’t an NHL lock-out (that will last until January 1, 2013) puck fans would still be wagering on annoying, bankroll busting, preseason action. Back the Giants over the Eagles in NFL action instead!
New York Giants: Rested and healthy after ten day break
It’s been a while since we witnessed a couple of G-Men backups and a new stud tight end romp all over the Carolina Panthers. Last Thursday, the triple B’s of Brown, Barden and Bennett, combined for 324 total yards and three touchdowns as the Giants gashed the Carolina Kittens 36-7 in front of a prime time audience. The defending Super Bowl Champs are now 2-1 as they have rolled to wins in two straight games. With RB Ahmad Bradshaw and WR Domenik Hixon both expected back, the Giants offensive juggernaut continues to gain momentum.
Philadelphia Eagles: Soared to close to the dessert sun and got clipped
Yours truly has never been secretive about the fact that I despise Eagles QB Michael Vick, along with the NFL for propping him up like some kind of a revival hero. Apart from all his sick off field antics, with his gimmick and gadgets, MDKV isn’t an elite NFL quarterback. I would take at least 15 other pivots ahead Vick on my team. It’s for those reasons that I don’t feel bad for the Eagles who just got whacked 27-6 by the Arizona Cardinals are very lucky to be sitting at 2-1.
Giants vs. Eagles Sportsbook Review NFL Week 4 Handicapping Call
Scanning NFL Week 4 online betting boards we find that the Philadelphia vs New York battle is covered with a very fine dusting of chalk. That is certainly the case at the BetOnline.ag sportbook as the Eagles are perched as slim -1 point home favorites. The Giants have +110 ML while the Green Birds have been tagged with a -130 Money Line. Totals betting fans will have to navigate a lofty 47.5 wagering line – the last two meetings have reached 27 and 45 points respectively.
That said, our handicapping Crew does like the Giants here. Kickoff for this NFC East rivalry classic is scheduled for 8:20 PM ET on September 30, 2012, from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. That last the G-Men were at the Link, back in Week 3 in 2011, New York broke Vick’s hand and busted up the Eagles by a 29-16 count. While this contest could be a little closer, give us the +110 ML odds as we back the defending Super Bowl Champs on the road over the Eagles.
