NFL 2011 Week Two Early Game Best Bets

Today’s two part Free Pick article features a game being played in early action, at 1:00 PM ET on the Sunday, September 18, 2011, as well as selection for the late games that kick off at 4:05 PM ET.

Some monster point spreads have taken most of the early games off of our betting card. Once we sifted through the remaining contests, it came down to the Detroit Lions at -370 hosting the Kansas City Chiefs or the Baltimore Ravens at -255 on the road against the Tennessee Titans down in Music City USA.

We are big on both of these games but the Ravens are a proven winner while the Lions haven’t been a touchdown or more favorite in over a decade. Baltimore has it going on, across the board, and they will play the Titans like a fiddle in this one.

NFL 2011 Week Two Late Game Best Bets

The four late games on Sunday come with more “reasonable” betting lines than the early games do. We have strong opinions on all four games but, it came down to the Dallas Cowboys, on the road, over the San Francisco 49ers, or the Houston Texans visiting South Beach to face the Dolphins.

How did both teams from the State of Texas end up on the road during the same week? Anyway…..

As much as we like the Cowboys, New England ran the Dolphins into the ground during Week One on Monday Night Football. Though it’s not quite as good as the Patriots, the Texans offense can go off at any time. Add in an improved defense, plus the fact that Miami is working on a short week, and we feel that Houston will not have a problem with their road favorite status.
