NFL Week 9 Game Review: Texans vs Chargers – Betting Recap
Versatile quarterback Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers earned their first road victory of the 2010 NFL season Sunday in Houston against the Texans who have struggled after a strong start.
Using eight different receivers, Rivers threw four touchdown passes against one of the league’s worst defenses and leads the Chargers into their bye week with their first two-game winning streak of the campaign.

Online sportsbooks such as Sportsbook.com saw plenty of betting action on this game as San Diego at -3 was a road favorite. The game total was set at 50.5 points.
Over at Betus.com the Chargers again closed as favorites at -150 while Houston were +130 underdogs against the money line.
Punters who bet on a high scoring tilt were right on the money, as the Texans aren’t capable of stopping teams from racking up the points this season.

Houston’s league-worst yards against ranking (298.2 passing per game, 399.5 total) wasn’t helped any as Rivers relentlessly threw bombs to rack up 295 yards on the day. He was aided by TE Randy McMichael and rookie WR Seyi Ajirotutu who each caught two touchdown passes.
RB Arian Foster was Houston’s lone shining light running for two touchdowns of his own, but the Texans were held to just a single field goal in the second half. It is the fifth-time this season the distressed Texans defense has faced a top-five offense.

Texans Game Ball: RB Arian Foster rushed for 127 yards on 27 attepmts for one touchdown and was the lone shining star for the Texans.
Houston is bottom of the AFC South with a 4-4 record and and visit Jacksonville (4-4), the team above them, in Week 10 action AFC south Division action.
Chargers Game Ball: QB Philip Rivers. Continually proving he is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, Rivers completed 17 of 23 passes for 295 yards and four touchdowns. He did throw one interception but looked sharp the entire game.
San Diego (4-5) will enjoy their bye in Week 10 before hosting the Denver Broncos (2-6) during the Week 11 NFL 2010 schedule on November 22.
