NFL Week 9 Game Review: Lions vs Jets – Betting Results
In the battle of first-round quarterbacks from the 2008 NFL draft, New York’s Mark Sanchez came out on top scoring a quarterback sneak late in the fourth quarter and connecting a huge 52-yard pass with Santonio Holmes in OT to set up the winning field goal.
Detroit was in control when QB Matthew Stafford hooked up with Nate Burleson for a late fourth quarter TD, but it fell apart when Detroit chose not to run the ball while out of timeouts, giving New York 40 seconds more on the clock to work with on their final drive.

Detroit QB Matt Stafford reinjured his right shoulder late in the final frame reaggravating the injury he sustained in Week 1 that led to a 5-game absence, and it cost the Lions dearly. Up by ten points, replacement QB Drew Stanton did nothing to seal the deal letting the Jets back into the game with time winding down.
New York didnt score in the first and third quarters, but Detroit’s inconsistency, both offensively and defensively, allowed the visitors opportunities to remain in the game and eventually win it.
In stark opposition to the way last week’s game winded down for New York, the Jets turned up the heat scoring ten points in the final three minutes and eventually winning the game in the first drive of overtime with a field goal.

Jets Game Ball: QB Mark Sanchez. Desperate for a solid performance, Sanchez came through for his team in Week 9. His 22 completions for a career-high 323 yards with one TD overshadowed the single interception.
New York (6-2) travel to Cleveland (3-5) in Week 10 attempting to surpass the Patriots and sit tops in the AFC East.
Detroit Game Ball: WR Nate Burleson. Burleson’s stellar receiving sparked up his teammates as he counted seven receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown.
Detroit (2-6) can match their win count of the past two seasons combined with a victory in Bullafo during Week 10 when they face the winless Bills (0-8).
