New York may have a solid record halfway through the 2010 NFL season, but they’ll have a tough time answering the storm of questions to come if they drop points to the Lions in Week 9 – straight after being shutout at home by Green Bay.
Detroit’s rough season is beginning to show positive signs after an excellent fourth quarter against Washington last week which sealed a 37-25 win, and Week 10 sees them up against the abysmal Buffalo Bills who currently sit with an 0-7 record.
NFL 2010 Team Stats: Lions Offense
Ranked 6th in the lead for points per game with 26.1, the Lions routinely score enough to win. Javid Best leads NFL rookies with 613 yards from scrimmage, though the offense is hovering around the bottom of the league for rushing yards per game, with just 82.3.
When they have found a way through this season, the Lions have managed to exploit opponents relentlessly.
Jets Defense: NFL 2010 Team Stats
Allowing only 15.7 points per game this far, New York’s defense is one of the toughest in the league. The only weak point is passing yards against, where it is ranked 18th, allowing 218.6 per game.
Week 8 proved you can still lose without conceding a touchdown, so Defensive Cordinator Mike Pettine will pull out all the stops to keep Detroit from scoring at all.
