NFL Game Day Preview: Ravens @ Jaguars
After watching the New Orleans Saints walk all over the Indianapolis “Varsity” Colts (62-7), one has to think that the Ravens would like to flex their scoring muscles on the prime time stage as well.
Despite outscoring their opponents 100-38 during their recent three game winning streak, the Baltimore offense has not been all that impressive. Baltimore was 2-4 in red zone touchdown efficiency, and 3-11 on third down conversions, against the Houston Texans during Week 6 action. Overall the Ravens rank 28th in TD scoring (38%) once they cross their opponents 20 yard line.
Jacksonville hung with the Steelers, but fell 17-13 in Week 6, on the road in Pittsburgh. That had more to do with the Steelers being out of sync than anything the Jaguars did. Since their Week 1 win, 16-14 over the Titans, Jacksonville has dropped five straight – by a combined 118-56 score.
Monday Night Football Betting Lines: Ravens vs. Jaguars Free Pick
This line opened as low as – 7.5 and has jumped up as high as -11.5 at various top online betting sites. While we would still bet this contest at -17, or maybe more, this is a good example of early line value. JustBet Sportsbook is our line provider for tonight’s Ravens vs Jaguars Free Pick.
We have looked at this contest from every angle and still can’t find a reason why this won’t be a Ravens rout. Jacksonville’s lone strength is the running game, with Maurice Jones-Drew, but the Ravens rank third in the NFL allowing just 76.6 rush yards per game.
Even if Jacksonville can muster up 17 points, the Ravens season scoring average (defensive scoring aided) is 29.6 which is fifth best in the league. That’s being generous as the Jaguars are scoring at a 12 points per game clip, and have not faced a defense that is anything like the Purple Birds.
It’ll be pedal to the metal as the Ravens roll the Jaguars in another Monday Night Football blowout.
