After exchanging TDs in the first quarter, Washington converted a field goal which was quickly answered by a Johnny Knox touchdown in the the second session and that gave the Bears a 14-10 lead at the half.

After the half, the interception curse took hold of Bears QB Jay Cutler. His four INTs in the game were no help to his offense, which crumbled upon conceding the game-winning DeAngelo Hall interception return of 92 yards in the third quarter.

Chicago went scoreless in the second half of a game that didn’t have a lot of offensive action. The defeat by Washington marks Chicago’s second straight three-point home loss.

Redskins QB Donovan McNabb enjoyed the return to his hometown with stats good enough to win on this day but not enough to win every week (17/32, 200 YDS, 1 TD, 2 INT). RB Ryan Toarin and WR Sanatana Moss were his big helpers against the Bears with just under 200 yards between them.

Redskins & Bears – Game Notes – Game Stars

Redskins Game Ball: CB DeAngelo Hall. Hall tied an NFL record for interceptions in a game by catching all four of Cutler’s miscues, returning one for a 92-yard game-winning touchdown. With seven tackles on the day he is the easy pick.

Washington (4-3) travels to Ford Field in Detroit in Week 8 to take on the 1-5 Lions. The Redskins are looking to catch up to the New York Giants at the top of the NFC East.

Bears Game Ball: WR Johnny Knox. Knox’s performance was admirable (6 REC, 86 YDS, 1 TD) and he could have done even more to help the team had he been given more opportunities with the ball.

The Bears have a Week 8 bye giving them extra time to prepare for the Bills in Toronto at the Rogers Centre during Week 9.
