NFL Week 7: Bills vs Ravens Game Review

Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick’s career game wasn’t enough to break Buffalo’s season-long winless spell as they faced the Ravens on the road during their NFL Week 7 matchup.

Sportsbook.com closed the point spread for the game at Baltimore -14, the game total was set at 40.5 points.

Betus.com had the money line for the home favorite Ravens at -700, while the heavy underdog Bills were marked at +500 against the money line.

Buffalo struggled to deal with FS Ed Reed’s return to the Ravens defensive line-up after six weeks on the injured list. Reed forced a fumble on Buffalo’s first possession and collected two interceptions in the second half; though things looked bright for Buffalo at the end of the first quarter in which the difference was a Lee Evans touchdown.

A wild 31-point second quarter gave the home fans their money’s worth. The Bills (30th ranked offense in the NFL) shredded the Ravens defense apart on the day for a staggering 505 yards. Baltimore, however, had some offensive prowess of their own. They lit the fire and scored 24 straight points leading into the fourth quarter with a 34-24 advantage.

After a Buffalo field goal and a (Lee Evans) touchdown, the game was tied at 34-34 and it was time for overtime. Unfortunately for the Bills, LB Ray Lewis stripped the ball from out of TE Shawn Nelson’s hands on the Bills 1st possession in OT and that set up a game winning 38-yard field goal for the Ravens.

The offense was obviously there for Buffalo, and but for their four turnovers, the Bills would have surely have recorded their first victory of the season.

Ravens vs Bills – Game Notes – Game Stars

Ravens Game Ball: QB Joe Flacco. Flacco remained solid on a day where the Ravens defense uncharacteristically didn’t show up. He threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns completing 16 of 31 passes.

The Ravens (5-2) enjoy a bye in Week 8 before hosting the Dolphins at M&T Bank Stadium in Week 9.

Bills Game Ball: WR Lee Evans. Evans made several clutch catches for the Bills and finished with 6 receptions for 105 yeards and three touchdowns.

The Bills’ will try to break the goose egg (last win-less team in the league) in Week 8 as they bring their 0-6 record to Arrowhead Stadium to face the Kansas City Chiefs (4-2). We say good luck with that.
