NFL Week 6: Titans vs Jaguars Game Review

The Titans and Jaguars were featured on Monday Night Football during Week 6 of the NFL 2010 schedule from EverBank Field in Jacksonville FL.

As the battle rages in the AFC South both teams were looking to keep pace with the Colts and Texans who both won on Sunday.

Tennessee came into this AFC battle for first place as a +3.5 point road favorite while BetUs.com closed the game total at 45.5 points.

Those backing the home underdog Jaguars at SportsInteraction.com were getting +125 ML odds while the road favorite Titans closed at -145 ML odds.

Titans @ Jaguars – Road Favorite Wins – Game Total Goes Under – Final: 30-3

Spread wagering at online sportsbooks, like Bodog.com, saw heavy action on the Titans and they didn’t disappoint as they defeated the Jaguars 30-3.

This game was all Titans right out of the gate. Tennessee took the opening kickoff and scored on a six play, 79-yard, drive that was capped with a Vince Young to Kenny Britt 23-yard TD pass. For Britt, it was his fourth consecutive game with a TD reception. The teams then traded punts as the first quarter ended 7-0 Titans.

Two costly turnovers by the Jaguars in the second quarter aided in their demise as the Titans scored twice in the period (TD & FG) to make the half time score 17-0.

The third quarter started just where the first half ended as the Titans picked off Jacksonville on their first possession and converted it into a field goal. Jacksonville would get on the board with a field goal on their next possession but it was much too little, much too late.

Tennessee left Jacksonville with a win and a share of first place with a 30-3 final score that covered the spread and kept the game total UNDER.

Titans @ Jaguars – Game Notes – Game Stars

Titans Game Ball: Veteran QB Kerry Collins came off the bench to replace an injured Vince Young and managed the remainder of the game beautifully. Collins was 11 of 16 for 110 yards, one touchdown and no turnovers.

Tennessee (4-2) returns home to face the Philadelphia Eagles (4-2) in Week 7 NFL 2010 action.

Jaguars Game Ball: In the end the Jaguars were their own worst enemy as they committed four turnovers. The lone bright spot for Jacksonville was sophomore WR Mike Thomas who had eight receptions for 88 yards.

Jacksonville (3-3) will reload and head out on the road to face the Kansas City Chiefs (3-2) during the NFL 2010 Week 7 schedule.
