Vikings vs Cowboys – Home Favorite Wins – Game Total Goes Over – Final: 24-21
Once viewed as a possible NFC Championship preview, this game would play out as a possible season saver for either the Vikings or the Cowboys as the loser would head into Week 7 with a 1-4 record.
Dallas opened the scoring on their second possession of the game with a QB Tony Romo 15 yard TD strike to WR Roy E. Williams. Vikings QB Brett Farve tied the score at 7-7 with a 10 yard TD pass to WR Greg Camarillo with two-seconds left in the first quarter.
Williams caught his second TD of the game with 32 seconds left in the second quarter as Dallas held a 14-7 halftime lead. The Vikings struck early and then again late in the third quarter to take a 21-14 lead.
Dallas tied the game again with a WR Dez Bryant TD catch in the fourth quarter before PK Ryan Longwell kicked a 38-yard, game winning, field goal. Longwell’s FG pushed the 44 point game total OVER by a single point as the Vikings won 24-21.
SportsInteraction.com took almost equal action on the money line and bettors who sailed with the Vikings cashed 83.33 units on a 100 unit money line bet.
Cowboys @ Vikings – Game Notes – Game Stars
Vikings Game Ball: Minnesota was out gained 314-188 in total yards but, while everyone chipped in minimally for the Vikings, All World RB Adrian Peterson is still the heart and soul of this team. “Purple Jesus” rushed 24 times for 73 hard fought yards and one TD.
Minnesota moves to 2-3 and they are two games back of the 4-2 Chicago Bears in the NFC North. The Vikings will try to keep it rolling as they head to Green Bay to face the Packers in a huge divisional showdown in Week 7; let the Favre return the Green Bay hype begin, again.
If Farve would just re-re-re-retire (losing count here) at some point this week, football fans everywhere would be spared the BS (Brett Saga).
Cowboys Game Ball: Dallas found away to defeat themselves again in the this one. Williams only saw three targets but he caught each of them and finished with 28 yards and two touchdowns.
Put a fork in the Cowboys as they are done! The loss leaves Dallas at 1-4 and 13th overall in the NFC. They trail the Giants and Eagles by three games and are two games back of the Redskins in their division.
If the entire coaching staff isn’t fired before the Cowboys welcome in the G-Men for a Week 7 NFC East rivalry game then Dallas owner Jerry Jones is the new Al Davis of the NFL.
