NFL Week 5 Picks: Underdogs With A Chance To Win
With the NFL Week 5 schedule shortened, because of six teams enjoying their Bye Week, our “Underdogs With A Chance” feature has just 13 games to choose from this weekend.
We have always been of the opinion that Week Five is too early for Bye Weeks. It’s even more ridiculous when you consider the lockout shortened preseason.

NFL Week 5 Underdog Wagering: Bengals @ Jaguars
Exciting NFL Week Five betting action gets underway on Sunday, October 9, 2011, with eight games slated for a 1:00 PM ET kickoff. We will roll with the Bengals and Chiefs in the early action.
Cincinnati has been an enigma this season but they have been stout on defense. The Bengals have given up the fewest total yards, while ranking 3rd in pass defense, and 7th against the run. Cincinnati is averaging 20 points per game – compared to just 9.8 PPG for the Jaguars. Yikes!
Though somewhat challenged on offense, the Bengals but still come in at a respectable 12th in rushing yards and they are playing a ball control offense. Jacksonville doesn’t score much and the Bengals will make it even more difficult by keeping the ball away from them.
Overall, the Jaguars may be the worst team in the NFL. This is a good spot for the Bengals to win outright in what we expect will be a low scoring (20-13) affair.

Colts vs Chiefs: Road Underdogs Invade Indianapolis
After getting blown out by the Bills and the Lions (89-10), the Kanasa City Chiefs battled to a hard fought 20-17 loss on the road to the Chargers in Week Three. They finally got off the schnide with a 22-17 Week Four win against the Minnesota Vikings.
Indianapolis has battled hard ,without QB Peyton Manning under center, but they must be getting demoralized by their 0-4 start. QB Curtis Painter is not the answer for the Colts. Meanwhile, Chiefs QB Matt Cassel is getting healthy and starting to come to life.
The Colts are coming off a short week – after playing on Monday Night Football. Kansas City has finally tasted victory – we figure they like it. Back the road puppies (24-17) in this one!
