Eagles vs. Seahawks: Week 13 Thursday Night Football Free Pick
We’d like to qualify this post by stating that this Seattle Seahawks vs. Philadelphia Eagles Thursday Night Football match-up is not high on our NFL Week 13 betting card. This is definitely one for the diehards!

On one side we have the underachieving Eagles, on the other side we have the never-achieving Seahawks. “Talent” over “mediocracy” should prevail in this one.
Eagles @ Seahawks: NFL Thursday Night Football Preview
Kickoff for this pro football betting action is slated for 8:20 PM ET, on Thursday, December 1, 2011, from CenturyLink Field, in Seattle, Washington. While this isn’t the sexiest match-up, we do see a high scoring, folly filled affair, so we’ll take it – along with the Live Betting at Bodog!
Philadelphia (4-7 Road: 3-2) comes into this match-up believing (dreaming) that a 2011 NFL playoff game is still in their future. Mathematically, they still a shot, realistically they don’t. It certainly didn’t help that QB Vince Young and Co. were manhandled 38-20 by the Patriots last weekend.
Seattle (4-7 Home: 2-3) have stumbled their way to another dreadful season – their playoff hopes have definitely been quashed. Even the 12th-Man mystic at CenturyLink Field has disappeared as the Seahawks dropped a 23-17 Week 12 home game to the lowly Washington Redskins.
Thursday Night Football Betting Lines: Seahawks vs. Eagles Free Pick
When it’s the only game in town, we love turing to the sportsbook at Bodog.com for our Free Pick betting lines. Add some excitement, to an otherwise meaningless game! LIVE BETTING action is available, play by play at Bodog, throughout the Eagles vs. Seahawks contest tonight.
There’s not much in the way of historical trends between these two clubs as they have only met 11 times in the regular season since 1980. The Eagles won, 26-7 on the road in Seattle, the last time they played the Seahawks. Overall the Eagles are 6-4 SU and 5-5 ATS last ten in this series.
One almost has to throw out everything that surrounds this contest and simply focus on the talent levels. From a defensive standpoint, there’s very little separating the two clubs. PHI and SEA both rank near the middle of the pack in the major statistical categories when it comes to defense.
That means you have to turn to the offensive stats. Seattle ranks 25th or worse, in all four major categories that measure offense. Philadelphia meanwhile has been able to move the chains and put points on the board. The Eagles rank 14th or higher in the major offensive categories including second in rushing yards and third overall in total yards. We think the Eagles can score in this one!
Both teams are dealing with injuries but Seattle losing WR Sidney Rice (concussion) for the season really hurts their already struggling offense. We normally like the home team, that avoided short week travel, on Thursday Night Football but – there’s no way we’re backing the Seahawks here.
