Betting Results: NFL Week 9 – Game Review – Browns vs Patriots

Two weeks after the shocking defeat against New Orleans, the Browns have done it again – this time in a 34-14 rout of the New England Patriots, who had been enjoying a very successful NFL 2010 season.

Rookie QB Colt McCoy, starting his third straight game, was near flawless on the day while trusted RB Peyton Hillis ran for a career-high 184 yards and two touchdowns to end New England’s five game winning streak.

Patriots @ Browns: Betting Results  – Final Score: 34-14 Browns

Oddsmakers at sportsbook.com online sportsbook closed the betting with New England as road favorites -4.5, while the OVER/UNDER closed at 44 points.

Betus.com closed its money line at -200 for the Patriots, while the Browns were marked at +165 underdogs.

The Cleveland Browns covered the spread and the money line as road underdogs as the game total went OVER.

McCoy clearly means business. He’s beaten Tom Brady and Drew Brees in two of his last three starts, and look like he will finish the season as the starting QB in Cleveland.

The Browns scored touchdowns in all four quarters, while New England were held to just one in second period and one in the fourth.

After shooting out to a ten point lead, the Browns steamrolled ahead, never letting the Patriots in the game. On offense, defense and special teams, the Browns held the upper hand throughout.

The highlight for the AFC East challengers was QB Tom Brady throwing 19 of 36 for 224 yards and two touchdowns to impressive rookie TE Aaron Hernandez.

Of note, Cleveland set a few team season highs in Week 9, recording the most points in a game, first downss (22), total yards (404) and time of possession at 38:08.

New England head coach Bill Belichick had no choice but to offer rival coach Eric Mangini of the Browns a reluctant congratulatory handshake. His team was beaten down for 60 straight minutes.
