The Week 5 2010 NFL schedule features the Tennessee Titans traveling west to Cowboys Stadium to face the Dallas Cowboys.
The Titans have had an up and down start to the 2010 NFL season as they are on a win one lose one rotation and sit at 2-2. Dallas started slow with two loses but did score a victory prior to their bye in Week 3 and sit at 1-2.
Dallas pounded inter-state rival Houston 27-13 in Week 3 prior to their Week 4 bye while the Titans got rolled by the Broncos 26-20 at home in Week 4 NFL 2010 football action.
2010 Cowboys Offense
After a sluggish start to the season, the Cowboys ramped up the offense in their Week 3 win over the Texans. Their 27 points in the win matched their previous two games combined score.
Dallas now sits 20th in points scored, 5th in total yards gained and they rank 4th in total passing yards while their running game has stumbled to ranking of 26th. It will be interesting to see how the Cowboys come out of their bye week.
Once thought of as Super Bowl XLV contenders, the 1-2 record has put them in an early hole. Fortunately for them, the Eagles, Giants and Redskins are all sitting at 2-2 in the tough NFC East and Dallas has a game in hand.
2010 Titans Defense
While the Titans offense has stumbled somewhat early on, their defense has been able to keep them in every game they have played during the 2010 NFL season. The Tennessee defense ranks 9th in both points allowed and total yards allowed.
Their pass defense sits 13th while their run defense is a solid 10th overall. The Titans will pit the strength of their running game (9th OA) against the strength of the Dallas defense that ranks 8th overall versus the run.
Game Analysis: We are pretty sure that the Cowboys would have rather played in Week 4 than be on a bye in order to keep the momentum they gained from their Week 3 win going. The Titans head west and are a team that has been hard to gage. One thing is certain about Tennessee; shut down running back Chris Johnson and you shut down the team.
We see Dallas being able to “contain” CJ2K in this one and their offense doing just enough to come away with a 24-17 victory.
