Red Sox vs. Rockies: High Scoring MLB Clubs Meet in Boston
Although we aren’t huge fans of Over/Under betting, the Boston Red Sox vs. Colorado Rockies series looks to be a very high scoring affair as both teams can score in bunches and they also allow a lot of runs.
This short two-game series gets underway on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, with first pitch slated for 7:10 PM ET from Fenway Park in Boston. The line is lofty but we like the Rockies and Red Sox to push it OVER 9.5 runs.
Boston versus Colorado: High scoring clubs set to battle
Researching the Major League Baseball statistics it’s easy to understand why the bookmakers at Sportsbook.com have set the game total at a lofty 9.5 runs for the Red Sox versus Rockies contest today. Boston leads the Majors in runs scored with 394, while the Rockies are tied for second with 373 runs plated. Additionally, neither team as been very good at keeping their opponents of the score sheet as the Rockies have allowed 338 runs while the Red Sox have yielded 325 runs.
Mediocre pitching match-up should add up to tons of runs at Fenway Park
In addition to having hot bats, both teams send pitchers to the bump who have an ERA that’s less than stellar. Juan Nicasio (4-3 ERA 4.78) has given up 46 runs in 79 innings pitched and he’ll face Ryan Dempster (4-8 ERA 4.23) who is 4-8 with 46 runs allowed in 89.1 innings pitched. Colorado has scored 14 runs in their last two games while Boston has given up 27 runs in their last three contests. The Green Monster had better be ready for a peppering in this contest tonight!
