MLB Doubleheader Handicapping Tips and Predictions
Looking at the Major League Baseball betting board, we see two real sweet spots on the slate tonight. First we get Tim Hudson and the Braves against the futility stuck Philadelphia Phillies at 7:05 PM ET.
Up next, we get Gio Gonzalez and the NL East leading Washington Nationals battling the Houston Astros. First pitch is slated for 8:05 PM ET from Minute Maid Park on Wednesday, August 8, 2012. Nail the NLE leaders!
Braves vs. Phillies Atlanta Looks to Keep Pace with Nats
With RHP Tim Hudson (11-4 3.45 ERA) on the bump, the Atlanta Braves are looking to keep pace with the Nationals while also maintaining their hold on one of the two NL Wild Card playoff spots. Hudson beat the Philles twice in July including a seven inning 4-hit shutout back on July 6, 2012. He gave up seven hits and two earned runs in a 6-2 Atlanta win back on July 29. Back the Braves!
Nationals vs. Astros Washington Continues to Rule Houston
With a slim lead in the NL East, Washington looks to build on their recent 11-4 record against Houston. The Astros have hung tough in this four game series but have still dropped the first two contests. One of the aces in the Nats rotation gets the call here as Gio Gonzalez (13-6 3.34 ERA) faces the ‘Stros for the second time in his career – the first being a 1-0 shutout back in April.
