MLB Betting Board Aces Start For Top American League Teams
We always get a little excited when we see Yu Darvish and Justin Verlander heading to the hill for the Texas Rangers and Detroit Tigers respectively. Houston and Cleveland as their opponents adds to our excitement.
The Cleveland Indians and Houston Astros will be on the receiving end of nastiness as The Vaporizer and Whirling Darvish take to the hill for games at 7:10 PM ET on Saturday, May 11, 2013. Load up and prosper!
Rangers vs. Astros: Darvish gets another crack at Houston
If you remember our MLB 2013 Opening Day post, you know we were high on Yu Darvish right out of the gate this season. It wasn’t long before our faith in the Whirling One paid off as Darvish was one out away from a perfect game when he blanked these same Astros 7-0 on April 2. Now, as we near the MLB quarter pole, the Rangers ace is 5-1 with a 2.56 ERA and he’s averaging 14.2 K’s per nine innings pitched. With 360 strikeouts (ten a game) Houston leads the Majors and they fanned 15 times the last time they faced Darvish. In our trained eyes – the math is simple in this contest.
Tigers vs. Indians: Verlander looks to vaporize Cleveland once again
Uncharacteristically, Justin Verlander is not the leagues Strikeout King as we are 35 games into the 2013 MLB season. The overall leader for the past the two years, The Vaporizer sits 14th overall, 22 K’s back of Darvish who has 72 punch-outs in 45.2 innings pitched. Verlander struck out nine, and was still perfect into the seventh, as the Tigers hurt Houston 9-0 on May 5. Verlander has allowed two earned runs in his last three starts over 21 innings pitched. Need a little more? The Tigers are 5-0 at home against the Tribe in Verlander’s last five starts – by a 34-11 combined final score.
Rangers and Tigers Posted as Thick Chalk – Sportsbook Review Money Line Parlay
As expected, the chalk is pretty thick for Texas (-256 ML) and Detroit (-227 ML) on the betting board at the sportsbook.ag online sports wagering website. In order to get some value out of these prices we are going to split up our normal “load up” style investment. Tie the Tigers and Rangers together in a money parlay with half and split the other half on two straight wagers.
