Los Angeles vs Kansas City Wilson and Angels look to Rebound
As we creep closer to the dog days of August, the Major League Baseball playoff races are starting to heat up. The addition of the second wild card spot means the 2012 stretch run will be action packed.
Tonight, the Los Angeles Angels welcome the Kansas City Royals to town for a three game set that opens on Monday, July 23, 2012, at 10:05 PM ET from Angel Stadium of Anaheim. We’re backing the Halo’s!
Prized LA Free Agent C.J. Wilson Bounces Back Tonight
One of the Angels preseason free agent mega moves was acquiring starting pitcher C.J. Wilson from the Texas Rangers. In his last outing, Wilson had his worst start of the season as he gave up seven runs, on seven hits and five walks, in a 7-2 loss to the Detroit Tigers in the Motor City. While Wilson has pitched decent, his 9-6 record hasn’t been good enough to keep the Angels close to the Rangers in the AL West. Kansas City can mash at the dish – but Wilson still bounces back here.
Kansas City Faces Another Lost Season In The American League Central
With a record of 40-54, Kansas City is facing their ninth consecutive sub .500 MLB season as the Royals will miss the playoffs for a pitiful 27th straight year. Come on folks, the late great Ronald Reagan was President of the United States the last time this club was a winner – albeit as flukey 1985 World Series Champions. We mentioned that the Royals have some sticks but LHP Bruce Chen (22 earned runs in his last four starts) isn’t the answer against the Angels.
