NLCS Game 5: Brewers @ Cardinals Pitching Preview
After scoring a combined 30 runs during the first two games in Milwaukee, the Brewers and Cardinals have struggled to score just 13 total runs during the last two contests in St. Louis. The Cardinals can blame their bats for not having a commanding 3-1 series lead after they went 0-8 with runners in scoring position on Thursday night.
Game 1 starters get the call for Game 5 of the 2011 NLCS as the Brewers RHP Zack Greinke is up against LHP Jaime Garcia of the Cardinals. Both pitchers allowed six runs in the Game 1 contest. Greinke gave up eight hits, over six innings pitched, while Garcia worked just four innings and gave up six hits.
Garcia will try to rekindle the magic he had going back on May 6, 2011, at Busch Stadium. In that contest Garcia blanked the Brewers 6-0 with a complete game, two hit, shutout.
Greinke pitched seven innings, of eight hit ball, in his only 2011 start in St. Louis but was a hard luck 2-0 loser to the Cardinals and their ace Chris Carpenter.
MLB PLayoff Betting Lines: Cardinals vs. Brewers Free Pick Prediction
LIVE Betting action, for Game 5 of the 2011 NLCS, is locked and loaded in the Sportsbook at the Bodog.com sports and entertainment wagering website. That’s where we turn for the betting lines for our Cardinals vs. Brewers Free Pick tonight.
We are feeling a bit jobbed after the Cardinals bats went silent, when it counted most, last night. That feeling is compounded by the fact that St. Louis left two base runners stranded in both the second and third innings – when they could have blown the game wide open.
Whether we get a repeat of the high scoring NLCS Game 1 contest is debatable, but we aren’t going to pass on getting runs with the high-powered Brewers in this one tonight.
