Mets and Pirates Open Four-Game Set at PNC Park in Pittsburgh Today

Two National League teams that have had up-and-down seasons so far will open a four-game set at PNC Park in Pittsburgh on Thursday night when the Pirates play host to the Mets. Pittsburgh is having a better year when compared to New York, but both teams are not happy with where they are right now. Vance Worley makes his third start for the Pirates, who we will back to win this game.

Pirates ask Worley to stay hot in return to Majors

Vance Worley has made a successful return to the Major Leagues, pitching to a 1.98 ERA in two starts with Pittsburgh since being recalled. He made his debut with Philadelphia, but was in the package sent to the Twins to acquire Ben Revere. He struggled with Minnesota and was designated for assignment. Pittsburgh has taken a chance on the righty and he has paid off so far for the Pirates as they open a four-game set with New York.

Mets send veteran Dice-K to the mound tonight

Daisuke Matsuzaka will take the hill tonight for the Mets as they try to grab a win in the series opener with Pittsburgh. Dice-K is 3-1 this season with a respectable 2.68 ERA. Matsuzaka suffered his first loss of the season his last time out. He gave up just one run to the Marlins in 5.1 innings pitched. New York enters this game coming off a loss, but they are 6-4 in their last 10 games played overall. The Mets sit 5.5 games out of first in the NL East entering tonight.

We are going to place our MLB bets Thursday night at TopBet.eu, where the Pirates and Worley are favored to win this game at home. We are going to bet 15 percent of our bankroll on the Pirates and the -150 money line as they take the first game of a four-game set from New York.
