Marlins Moving Closer to a Playoff Spot as Four-Game Set with Brewers Continues

Miami made a massive trade at the deadline with the Houston Astros to acquire starting pitcher Jarred Cosart. He has gone 4-1 with an ERA of 1.99 since joining the Marlins, helping them climb the ladder in the NL Wild Card standings. Miami was not supposed to compete for a playoff spot this year, maybe not even next year, but they have enjoyed success in Florida all of a sudden. 

Brewers inching closer to an early off-season

Milwaukee led the NL Central division for the majority of the season. Now, they find themselves six games out of first and 1.5 games out of the second Wild Card spot in the National League. They have lost four straight games and are just 1-9 in their last 10 games played. Milwaukee has dropped the first two games of this four-game series in their own stadium and cannot afford another loss on Wednesday night.
