Cardinals Look to Hand Braves Another Loss After Minor Hiccup
St. Louis and Atlanta have had some interesting playoff games the past couple of years, which makes for exciting regular-season baseball. This series has seen its ups and downs, but the teams will go for the rubber match on Wednesday night in Atlanta. The Braves snapped a seven-game losing streak last night, but will be handed another loss by St. Louis tonight as their offensive woes continue.
Cardinals look to rebound with Adam Wainwright
Ace Adam Wainwright will take the mound against the team that drafted him back in 2000, but traded him away in December of 2003 for J.D. Drew. Wainwright began his Major League career as a reliever, but has turned into an incredibly dominant starter. He was roughed up his last time out, but will look to rebound against a struggling Atlanta offense on Wednesday night. As a strikeout pitcher, Wainwright must be chomping at the bit to face the Braves tonight.
Braves trying to win two in a row
Atlanta finally snapped its miserable seven-game losing streak on Tuesday night with a 2-1 win against St. Louis. During their streak, the Braves were outscored 37-15 and have the second-lowest runs scored total in the majors ahead of only San Diego. They have scored just 104 runs this season. Just because they snapped their streak it does not mean that they are out of the woods yet. Their offense is either white-hot or ice-cold due to the amount of strikeouts in the lineup.
We visit the online sportsbook found at Bovada.lv for the betting line in tonight’s NL contest between the Braves and the Cardinals. Even though they are away from home, the Cardinals are road chalk tonight simply because Wainwright is on the mound. This is why we will drop 15 percent of our bankroll on St. Louis as we lay the line (-1.5/+145) on Wednesday night.
