Breeders’ Cup Classic News: Horse Betting Odds & Race Day Tips
We are mere hours from Day Two of the 2011 Breeder’s Cup World Championships. Where the youngsters and fillies had their day in the sun on Friday, the big boys, plus a few quality fillies, step onto the track at the Cathedral of horse racing today.
Churchill Downs will be packed as the Breeder’s Cup Marathon heads to the post at 1:20 PM ET on Saturday. The Marathon will be followed by seven more of the richest stakes races in the world.
Morning Line Second Favorite Uncle Mo Taking Some Heat
All that Championship horse racing leads up to the 28th running of the Breeders’ Cup Classic, with it’s $5 Million dollar purse, on Saturday, November 5, 2011.
Will Uncle Mo (5-2 odds) run like Aunt Flo in the mile and 1/4 Breeders’ Cup Classic Championship?
His Owner Mike Repole, along with Trainer Todd Pletcher, sure have been taking a lot of heat in the media. Most of the comments center on the lack of prep work for their 3-year old star Colt.
Uncle Mo has been lightly raced and is stepping up in distance in this one. Since early April he has had two starts. Uncle Mo ran 2nd at a distance of seven furlongs at the Saratoga Race Course, and finished 1st in a one mile contest back on October 1, 2011, at Belmont Park.

Chief Race Rivals Have Been Prepping With Extra Distant Races
While Uncle Mo has been racing infrequent shorties, his competition has been running long distant prep races – and lots of them.
Havre de Grace (3-1 odds) has had six starts of at least a mile and a 16th. New Zealand bred, So You Think (5-1 odds) has run seven starts at least 1 1/4 miles. Both horse have been busy over the past six months leading up to the Cup Classic.
There is no doubt that Uncle Mo is an amazing Champion. We just wonder how much gas will be left in his tank for the finish of this grueling race.
Stayed tuned throughout the day as we bring you additional Breeders’ Cup Championship Saturday news and horse betting tips!
