Flat Out Will Go All Out In The Breeder’s Cup Classic

Though far from the longest shot on the board, Flat Out (6/1 odds) who is trained by 70-year old Charles “Scooter” Dickey, has a shot in the Grande Finale today. Dickey readily admits that Flat Out is the best chance he may ever have to capture a Cup Classic victory.

Impressive in his last four starts, Flat Out has won twice, while finishing second in the other two races. His latest win, came on October 1, 2011, as he won the coveted $750,000 Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont Park last Saturday.

Ruler On Ice Could Be Hot In The Breeders’ Cup Classic Field

Winner of the 2011 Belmont Stakes, Ruler On Ice is a hefty 30-1 to win the Breeders’ Cup Classic. Prime concerns for bettors here is the fact that Ruler On Ice runs better in the slop, and he won’t have?Jose Valdivia, Jr. on board – as he did in his 20-1 upset victory in the Belmont Stakes.

Ruler On Ice, who didn’t run in the Kentucky Derby, or Preakness Stakes, before winning at Belmont (sloppy track), will need a strong and steady pace at the start of the Cup Classic today.

This Kelly Breen trained Chestnut Gelding, out of the barns at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, New Jersey, can track down a field. The 3-year old was charging after Born To Serve, in the Pennsylvania Derby back on September, 24, 2011, but came up a couple of lenghts short in the one mile race.

The extra distance helps this long shot with a chance in the Classic today.

As the sun sets on Churchill Downs, the momentum is building for the Breeders’ Cup Classic!
