ALDS Game Two Betting Lines: Rangers vs Rays Free Pick

Every once in a while, sports handicappers get punched in the face, and are made to look like fools, by certain picks they prognosticate. That was certainly the case as the we gave the Tampa Bay Rays +1.5 runs and backed the Texas Rangers yesterday.

Tampa Bay then pounded Texas, from pillar to post, in a 9-0 blowout win during Game One of the 2011 ALDS.

Game Two of this baseball betting series is slated for 7:00 PM ET on Saturday, October 1, 2011, from Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas. We are expecting a closer contest tonight.

Yesterday, we saw a veteran team, that was white hot and can mash with the best of them, up against a raw rookie pitcher, making his postseason debut on the road. It was one of those picks we would love to burn. It is what it is though – we struck out looking.

Texas needs to do just as we have done. Chalk it up as one of those days/games, shake it off, and move forward. This is a veteran team and they came back from a 5-2 Game Four loss in the 2010 ADLS to rip the Rays 5-1 and win the series. While the 2011 ALDS is only one game young, this is still a huge rebound game for the Rangers.

Today’s betting lines are furnished by the sportsbook at the BetOnline sports wagering website. After the Game One blowout, the Rangers vs. Rays betting lines have moved drastically for Game Two.

After previewing this series yesterday and there isn’t a lot we can add today. We do get a totally different pitching matchup tonight as the Rays James Shields faces the Rangers Derek Holland. These two lead the American League in shutouts, with four apiece, during the 2011 MLB season.

Both teams combined runs tonight may not reach the nine runs the Rays scored on their own yesterday. Will the Rangers show some pride or will the Rays continue to roll? We don’t see another blowout in this contest tonight and, being as such, we are going to take the runs and rock on with the Rays in this one.
