MLB Game 6 World Series Preview: Rangers @ Cardinals
Despite the rain-out on Wednesday, Ron Washington of the Rangers and Tony LaRussa from the Cardinals, have said they will not alter their starting lines tonight. That includes the Game 6 starting pitchers, as we get a rematch of the Game 2 hurlers in this one.
Texas sends RHP Colby Lewis to the bump, to face Cardinals LHP Jaime Garcia, for this showdown in St. Louis. Both of these pitchers were lights out in their Game 2 starts as Lewis pitched 6.2 innings of four hit, one run ball. Garcia was even better as he went seven strong innings, allowing no runs, on three hits, while striking out seven Ranger batters.
At the dish, there isn’t a whole lot separating these two clubs. Looking at the composite Series box score, the Rangers have scored 19 runs, on 39 hits, while the Cardinals have plated 22 runs, on 36 base hits. The Rangers have been the sloppier of the two teams as they have committed six errors, compared to just two for the Red Birds.
Both teams have scored in bunches, during innings four through six in particular, as they have tallied a combined for 26 runs over those three innings. The first three innings have seen five runs scored, while there have been ten runs plated over the final three frames.
Baseball Betting Lines: Cardinals vs. Rangers World Series Game 6 Free Pick
We surf over to the sportsbook at the Bodog.com online sports wagering website for tonight’s Cardinals vs. Rangers World Series Game 6 Free Pick betting odds.
While the Cardinals have been a true “Cinderella Story” since August, the Rangers would love to turn them into pumpkins tonight. Not only would a win prevent the Carp from resurfacing, but it would also send the Rangers back to Texas as the World Champions of Baseball.
Weather reports in the St. Louis area are calling for a crisp October night but it will be dry. Game time temperatures should hover around the high 40 degree mark. The Rangers should be looser than Bambi Woods heading into action tonight, while the Red Birds come in as the first team to face elimination during the 2011 World Series.
As much as we would like to see a thrilling Game 7 in the MLB 2011 World Series, we see Texas closing out the Series with a win tonight!
