Breeders’ Cup Classic Free Picks: Race Day Betting Tips

After a thrilling weekend of Championship horse betting action, we are left with the final race of the day as the Breeders’ Cup Classic is now under a half hour away from the post time in the Derby City!

With a $5 Million purse, the Breeders’ Cup Classic is set to run under the lights, on the dirt of historic Churchill Downs. Post Time for the Classic is slated for 7:00 PM ET, on Saturday, November 5, 2011, from Louisville, Kentucky.

Breeders’ Cup Classic Field May Be Harboring A Long Shot

Last, hour we discussed Ruler On Ice (30-1 odds) and Flat Out (6-1) as being possible underdog contenders in the Cup Classic. We’ll be wheeling both of them, into at least one of our tickets, when we give our Free Picks in the closing of this post.

We aren’t real high on So You Think (5-1) who made the long trip from New Zealand.  We also aren’t impressed by any of the super long shots, who are 30-1, other than Ruler On Ice.

Stay Thirsty catches our eye, after his win in the Travers Stakes at Saratoga back on August 27, 2011. Drosselmeyer, who won the Belmont Stakes in 2010, could also be a force in a long shot Exactor bet.

You also can’t forget about Game On Dude who won the controversy filled, yet thrilling, 2011 Santa Anita Handicap in California back in March.
