NFL Week 11: Jets @ Broncos Game Day Preview
Both teams are just a game back of their division leaders. New York (5-4) trails New England in the AFC East, while the Broncos (4-5) are a game back of the Oakland Raiders in the AFC West.
New York will try to shake off the affects of their Week 10 pummeling at the hands of QB Tom Brady and the Patriots. The Jets were torched by Brady in the second half as New England rolled to a very convincing 37-16 win. In New York no less.
Denver have won two straight games as they defeated AFC West rivals Oakland 34-28 in Week 9, and then eased past Kansas City 17-10 during Week 10 action.
Thursday Night NFL Betting Lines: Broncos vs. Jets Free Pick
We aren’t sure what to make of this betting line as it opened with the Jets as a -4.5 point road favorite, but has shot as high as -7 New York. With a 1-3 road record, and because the Jets are traveling on a very short week, we expected this line to stay around a field goal price in favor of Gang Green. Don’t forget, the Patriots beat down was a Sunday Night game for the Jets.
This contest features two of the most maligned quarterbacks in the league as Jets Mark Sanchez will battled Tim Tebow of the Broncos. Quite frankly, we are surprised that either of them have an NFL starting QB job. Tebow’s stat line from Week 10 reads 2-8 for 68 yards. Sanchez was 20-39, with two costly interceptions, not to mention his ill-advised time out call, against the Patriots.
The run defenses will be challenged in this contest, as “ground and pound” will be prominent on both teams play lists. The Jets (15th – 116 YPG) and the Broncos (16th – 117.6 YPG) have both struggled somewhat against the rush. One thing is certain, this game will be over quick!
With so much public money backing the Jets, along with Sanchez under center, we are very nervous when it comes to backing New York on the road. With Tebow guiding the Broncos, and the loss of Knowshon Moreno in the backfield, we aren’t thrilled to be backing the Broncos.
While we see this contest as entertaining battle of futility, from a spectator standpoint, it won’t be high on our Week 11 NFL betting card. If you have to…..
