Giants @ Saints: NFL Monday Night Football Preview

Kickoff for MNF betting action is slated for 8:30 PM ET on Monday, November 28, 2011, from the newly renamed Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

New Orleans (7-3 Home: 4-0) is fresh off their bye week and have won their last two contests. The Saints took advantage of a blunder by Atlanta head coach Mike Smith to beat the Falcons 26-23 in overtime prior to their bye week.

New York (6-4 Away: 3-2) has dropped two straight games and find themselves chasing the Dallas Cowboys. The Giants lost on the road 27-20 to the 49ers in Week 10, and then dropped a home game 17-10 to the Eagles on Sunday Night Football in Week 12.

In the NFL 2011 playoff race, New Orleans is a half game up on the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC South, while New York sits a half game back of the Cowboys in the NFC East.

NFL 2011 MNF Betting Lines Saints vs Giants

For two teams that are battling for a playoff position, we are a bit surprised by the touchdown and half betting line in this one. Further research shows the Saints have been one of the better home teams in the league – over their last seven regular season games.

In those contests New Orleans is 7-1 SU and ATS. The lone loss was during Week 17 last season, when half the Saints starters didn’t play. In the seven wins, the Saints have outscored their opponents 244-111.

Make it 184-104 if you take out the 64-7 blowout win over the Indianapolis Colts back in Week 7.

We think the Saints will get up early in this one and never look back.
