Steelers vs. 49ers: NFL Week 15 Monday Night Free Pick
After they watched the Texans and Ravens both take a hit during Sunday NFL action, Pittsburgh should have some jump in their step here. Top spot in the AFC, plus home field advantage and a first round playoff bye, will be in the Steelers control with a win tonight.
After New Orleans vanquished the hapless Vikings on Sunday, with a 42-20 shellacking, the Saints have climbed over the Niners into the two hole in the NFC.

49ers vs Steelers: NFL Monday Night Football Preview
Game time for this Pittsburgh vs. San Francisco playoff style football wagering action is slated for Monday, December 19, 2011, at 8:30 PM ET from Candlestick Park, San Francisco, CA.
After cruising through the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns, at home the last two weeks, Pittsburgh (10-3 Road 4-2) heads out on the road tonight. Bolstered by the Sunday action, plus four straight wins, the Steelers should be fired up for this playoff caliber football tonight.
Don’t talk about road trips to San Francisco (10-3 Home: 6-1) as they’ve gone west to east a staggering six times this season. All that travel is not a good thing for players in the National Football League. The 49ers will try to rebound from a 21-19 Week 14 loss to Arizona.
NFL Injury Update: Pittsburgh @ San Francisco: Free Pick Betting Odds
Injuries and a key suspension loom large for Pittsburgh as QB Ben Roethisberger is hobbled but should start. LB James Harrison definitely won’t start as he sits out a one game NFL suspension for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Browns QB Colt McCoy in Cleveland last weekend.
Pittsburgh LB LaMarr Woodley and S Troy Polamalu (hamstrings) were limited in practice this week but should start. With 6-1 home record, the Steelers would love to control the AFC playoff picture. Time off to heal injuries, and playing Round Two at Heinz Field, is just what the doctor would order.
A huge injury blow to the 49ers is the loss of top linebacker and team leader Patrick Willis who is also dealing with a hamstring issue. The Niners are also expected to be without offensive tackle Joe Staley who has a concussion. That’s not good news for Niners less than spectacular QB Alex Smith.
WR Braylon Edawards (knee) was limited in practice and is listed as questionable. The 49ers need a win to take back their position in the race for the two seed in the NFC. We haven’t been big on the Niners, and their smoke and mirror wining ways, all season – we aren’t tonight either!
