Toledo (8-4 OA 7-1 MAC) dominated the Mid-American Conference, as their only loss was a 63-60 shootout against Northern Illinois. In that contest the two teams combined for 1,121 total yards and 17 touchdowns as the Huskies scored with nine seconds remaining to pull out the win. That was the last loss for the Rockets as they finished the season on a 7-1 run.
Air Force (7-5 OA 3-4 MWC) was streaky all year as they started the season at 3-1 and finished with a 4-1 run. A three game Falcons losing streak was sandwiched in between. Air Force defeated Army and Navy to win the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy this season. Despite their name, Air Force loves to run the rock as they were #2 in the Nation with an average of 320.3 rushing yards per game.

Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl Preview: Longhorns vs. Bears
California (7-5 OA 4-5 Pac-12) busted out of the gates with three wins as they outscored their opponents by a 135-66 count. The party didn’t last though as the Golden Bears dropped their next three contests, including a 43-15 pasting by the #9 Oregon Ducks. In their other game against BCS Top 25 talent, California hung tough with #9 Stanford before dropping a 31-28 decision.
#24 Texas (7-5 OA 4-5 Big 12) fired out with four straight wins to start the season – before they ran into #3 Oklahoma and #6 Oklahoma State. They lost both of those contests by a combined 93-43 final score. The Longhorns recovered to win their next two games but faltered down the stretch with a 1-3 record that included a 48-24 whacking by the #17 Baylor Bears.
