MLB Opening Day Act Two: Stud Pitchers Dominate the Bump
MLB Opening Day Act Two hits the diamonds Monday as 24 of the 30 MLB clubs are in action today. From historic Dodger Stadium in Chavez Ravine, to Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, the Boys of Summer are back!
Several of our favorite pitchers head to the hill today including Stephen Stasburg who gets the call for the Washington Nationals as the Nats open MLB Day Two action at 1:05 PM ET on April 1, 2013, against Miami.
American League: Tigers and Yankees send out Aces
When New York opens at home against Boston today, CC Sabathia makes his fifth straight Opening Day start for the Bronx Bombers. The Yankees have issues this year but we like Sabathia over Jon Lester and the Red Sox. Later in the afternoon, Detroit begins their 2012 AL Championship defense in Minnesota. Tigers starter Justin Verlander goes up against Vance Worley from the Twins.
National League: Washington Nationals welcome back Stephen Strasburg
When Washington shut down Stephen Strasburg, with a month left in the season last year, many wondered if the Nationals had squandered a chance to win the World Series. The rumbles grew louder when the Cardinals beat the Nats in the NLDS. Washington begins their first full season without Strasburg on a pitch count and we like them up against the lowly Miami Marlins today.
