Seattle Flying High After Blowout Win Over Toronto Monday Night at Home
The Mariners, despite having a strong season, are out of the race in the AL West. They are however, still fighting for one of the two AL Wild Card spots. Seattle enters tonight just one-game out of both Wild Card spots. They drubbed Toronto 11-1 in game one of this series. The Blue Jays are struggling to regain their footing in the AL East as they are six games out of first. We like Seattle in this contest tonight.
Mariners out for second straight win over Jays
Seattle obliterated the Blue Jays in the first game of this three-game series on Monday night at Safeco Field. They received the 10th home run of the season from Robinson Cano and another stellar pitching performance from Felix Hernandez. Hernandez recorded his 16th straight start in which he allowed two runs or fewer while lasting seven innings. The team ERA for Seattle is 2.97, which is the lowest by a team since 1989.
Blue Jays falling out of multiple races
Toronto has dropped to six games out of the race in the AL East behind the Baltimore Orioles and are now two games out of the AL Wild Card race with their loss to Seattle. Toronto also fell behind the Mariners in the Wild Card race with their loss. They will ask J.A. Happ, who is 8-6 this season, to subdue the Mariners lineup on Tuesday night when he takes the mound for the second game of this series.
Toronto will look to stay close in the AL Wild Card race tonight when Seattle hosts them for game two. We will place our wagers at Bovada.lv, where the Mariners are home chalk tonight. We will bet 10 percent of our bankroll on Seattle and the -110 money line as they grab another home victory with Chris Young on the mound.
