Virginia Hosts Maryland in ACC Rivalry Week Battle Monday Night

Rivalry week begins on Monday, February 10, 2014 when the Virginia Cavaliers host the Maryland Terrapins. It is an ACC battle that will be more of a blowout than expected. The Cavaliers are the number-17 team in the country and have just one loss in ACC play this season. They should be too much to handle for Maryland when the two teams meet tonight in Charlottesville.

Virginia holding strong near top of ACC

Despite holding a 10-1 record in ACC play, the Cavaliers are in second place in the conference because Syracuse is undefeated. The Cavaliers are on a collision course with the Orange right now if all holds steady and they continue to play well. They can begin a strong run towards the tourney with a win over Maryland Monday night in front of their devoted fans, who are sure to be rowdy from the opening whistle to the waning seconds fo the game.

Terrapins trying to move away from middle of pack

Maryland sits in the middle of the ACC standings with a 6-5 record. There are six teams ahead of them in the standings and have not shown any reason why they should be considered a threat or darkhorse this season. The Terps are just 14-10 overall and have looked downright ugly in most of their losses. They can start a late-season turnaround with a statement win on the road against the Wahoos.

NCAA men’s basketball opens rivalry week tonight when the Terps visit the Cavaliers in Charlottesville. These two teams are bitter opponents in the ACC, but Virginia is enjoying an incredible season so far. The Wahoos are 11-point favorites over the Terps Monday night at Bovada.lv. We will absolutely lay the line with 20 percent of our bankroll as the Cavaliers roll the Terps for their 11th ACC win.
