Game Time: 8:20 PM ET Sunday, October 10

Stadium: Candlestick Park – San Francisco, CA

The Week 5 2010 NFL schedule features the Philadelphia Eagles traveling cross-country to the San Francisco Bay area to battle the 49ers.

San Francisco has had a hard luck start to what many thought would be an NFC West winning season and sit with an 0-4 record during NFL 2010.

The Eagles have won while feasting on two lesser opponents and lost two games, one to a quality team and one to a like team, to sit at 2-2 through four weeks of play.

2010 49ers Defense

San Francisco ranks in the middle to lower end in all four major defensive categories. They have given up 25.8 points per game (27th) yielded 335.8 total yards per game (335.8) while ranking 20th in pass defense (227.8) and 16th in run defense (16th).

2010 Eagles Offense

Overall, the Eagles offense ranks 8th in points scored (23.8) and total yards (364) while they are 12th in passing yards (232.2) and 11th in rushing yards (131.8).

Eagles vs 49ers Betting Odds & Game Prediction

The betting odds posted Bodog.com currently have the 49ers listed as  -3.5 home favorites with the game total set at 38 points.

Sportsbook.com has posted the Eagles as a +155 underdog and the favorite 49ers at -175 on the money line.

Game Prediction: The 49ers are embarrassed by the goose egg in the win column and they will come out slugging, as the NFC West title is still wide open and within their grasp.

San Francisco is at home and will be the more motivated team in this one.  We forecast the 49ers going to 1-4 with a close 21-17 win over the Eagles.

We will lay the 3.5 points and take the OVER 38 points in this Week 5 NFL 2010 NFC showdown.
