Closing Betting Lines: Redskins vs Lions – Week 8 Game Recap

When the Washington Redskins headed the Motor City to face the Detroit Lions at Ford Field during Week 8 NFL action, we saw one team as a fraud and one team that had battled hard in every game during the NFL 2010 season.

Washington was the frauds as they came off a suspect 17-14 Week 7 road win over Chicago. Bears QB Jay Cutler threw four INT and coughed up a fumble (as did RB Matt Forte) but the Redskins still managed just 17 total points.

Detroit was on a Week 7 bye but they had been playing far better than 1-5 record would indicate.

NFL 2010 NFC Standings Update

With the loss Washington (4-4) falls two games back of the New York Giants and one loss behind the Philadelphia Eagles in the competitive NFC East.

For Detroit (2-5) this had to be a satisfying win after so many heartbreaking losses. The Lions were together on the field, as a complete unit, for the first time since QB Matthew Stafford went down in Week 1. They looked like winners as they played inspired football on both sides of the ball.
